historical context

CT I Lety u Písku
CT I Lety u Písku was one of two so-called „Gypsy-camps“ on the territory of the „Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia“. Both camps served as concentration camps within the framework of the national socialist persecution of „Gypsies“. In the camp itself, about 330 men, women and children lost their lives, more than 500 others were deported further to the concentration and extermination camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau for being Roma or Sinti.
