O restitucích rozhoduje náměstek nizozemského ministra školství, kultury a vědy.

V souladu s nizozemskou restituční politikou lze písemné restituční žádosti podávat nejpozději do 4. dubna 2007. Žádosti včetně odůvodnění zasílejte na adresu:

Ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap t. a. v. de Staatssecretaris van Cultuur Postbus 16375 2500 BJ Den Haag Nederland

Notification by the state of the Netherlands 4 April 2007. Final closing date for restitution applications cultural objects and the second world war

Following the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945, many works of art that had been confiscated or purchased by the German occupying forces were brought back to the Netherlands. These works came into the custody of the State of the Netherlands and formed the NK collection (named after the SNK, Stichting Nederlands Kunstbezit). The NK collection consists of 4,217 works of art. In some cases the owners were Jewish. Since 2001, the Netherlands has pursued a liberalised restitution policy for cultural objects from the NK collection that, as a result of the Second World War, were involuntarily lost by the then owners, provided they belonged to a persecuted group. The Restitutions Committee (Adviescommissie restitutieverzoeken cultuurgoederen en Tweede Wereldoorlog) advises the State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science on individual applications for the post-war restitution of cultural objects that are currently in the custody of the State of the Netherlands.

Under the liberalised restitution policy, written applications for retitution may be submitted no later than 4 April 2007. Please send your application (including the grounds for your request) to the:

Ministry of Education, Culture and Science Attn State Secretary for Culture Postbus 16375 2500 BJ Den Haag The Netherlands
