The aim of this website is to provide Czech public with reliable information about the history of the Holocaust. The Czech version of this website contains numerous texts and documents about the Holocaust, including interviews with survivors. We also inform about different Holocaust-related news such as exhibitions, new books etc.
The www.holocaust.cz website is specifically designed for use in Czech schools, by both students and teachers.
We prepare materials for English reading visitors as well; these will be focused mainly on the history of the "Final Solution" in Czech Lands and of the Terezín (Theresienstadt) Ghetto. If you have any suggestions please email us at education@terezinstudies.cz.
In summer 2002, the Holocaust memorials in the Czech Republic were strongly effected by catastrophic floods. You can find more information here.
The development of this website was sponsored by the Anne Frank Stichting in Amsterdam in the framework of the Matra programme of the Dutch Ministery of Foreign Affairs. Currently, a development of a new, interactive, version of www.holocaust.cz is being sponsored by the
Foundation for Holocaust Victims. Originally, the website was financially supported by the
Terezín Initiative, the association of Terezín survivors.
